Cake rises with Director appointment

Award-winning public relations and creative communications agency Cake has appointed a new Director and Head of Communications.

Gwyneth Moore has joined the agency to oversee the planning and delivery of client accounts. She will also work closely alongside Managing Director Sara Robinson to support the overall strategic direction of the company.

Gwyneth brings with her a wealth of experience across all communication disciplines, and will lead two account teams servicing clients across a wide variety of sectors including retail, construction, property, charity, healthcare and education and skills.

With almost 20 years of industry experience, Gwyneth has worked as a national PR director, marketing adviser, university lecturer and is a published author. She became an IT Marcomms expert in her early PR career, which eventually led to her being involved in initial launch activity of Twitter in Australia.

Throughout her career Gwyneth has advised global clients from a multitude of B2C and B2B sectors on PR, digital and marketing strategy. Her clients have included Bellway Homes, Savills, IMG Fashion Australia, Greenwich Shopping Park and D-Link. She previously held senior roles at two Cardiff-based agencies, prior to moving to Sydney where she was National PR Director for a large consumer agency.

Cake, based on West Bute Street in the heart of Cardiff Bay’s creative quarter, has enjoyed its most successful trading year to date.  Last year saw turnover and profit double, and the agency has reported steady 30 per cent quarter on quarter growth. This has come on the back of a series of client wins that have included Brecon Carreg mineral water, Capitol Shopping, global steel firm AIC Steel and global healthcare brand Allmed.

Cake’s founder and Managing Director Sara Robinson said:

“This is a key appointment for us as we look to consolidate our recent growth and focus on the future development of the business.

“We are privileged to have secured Gwyneth’s services, given her extensive national and international PR, social media and leadership experience.

“She will play a pivotal role in managing the agency’s strategic direction as well as ensuring clients continue to receive the excellent service levels upon which we have built our reputation.”

Gwyneth Moore said:

“I’m delighted to be joining Cake and have watched the agency go from strength to strength over the past few years. The mix of B2C and B2B clients really appeals to me, and the hungry and dynamic approach the agency has towards winning and delivering creative and impactful campaigns, really impressed me.”
