David Walton at Harris Lamb negotiates 99p Stores’ 250th site

National retailer 99p Stores opened its 250th store on August 12th.

The store on Abington Street, Northampton, is the second store in the town centre, opening in the former That’s Entertainment unit. 99p Store’s head office and distribution centre are also both located within the town.

David Walton, who joined Midlands property consultancy Harris Lamb last month, negotiated the letting for 99p Stores as tenant.

David said:  “This is a prime shop in the town, all the national retailers are located close by and the shop will benefit from the high footfall of the location.

“99p stores continue to expand are seeking to open 40 new stores this year. Harris Lamb has been appointed to identify further sites throughout the Midlands and the North of England in retail parks, shopping centres and high street locations and we still need to secure sites now to open before Christmas”

David has now acquired 29 stores for 99p Stores in less than two years.

Tony Brown of 99p Stores said “We have an extremely active property expansion planned. We are now represented on the high street, in shopping centres and retail parks and continue to seek prime opportunities to grow our brand.

“99p Stores are now tenants of the majority of major landowners in the UK and discount retailing is now a staple of British shopping”

99p Stores have taken a 10 year lease on the Abington Street premises.
