Alan Murch appointed Non-Executive Chair at NJL Consulting

Manchester-based planning consultancy NJL Consulting is delighted to announce the appointment of Alan Murch as Non-Executive Chair.

The property veteran aims to bring a commercial approach to the company’s new business thinking and will be responsible for generating new leads, business development and participating in the day-to-day running of the firm.

Commenting on his appointment, Alan Murch said: “Using my years of experience the commercial property market and the contacts I’ve developed during my career, I’ll be looking to bring an extra dimension to both managing and developing the business.

“I’ve known Managing Director Nick Lee for nearly 15 years, having worked with him at two previous firms. I rate him highly as a commercially-minded planner and had no hesitation in accepting his invitation to join what I consider to be a highly progressive company.”

Alan brings more than 40 years’ experience in the north-west property market to bear on his new role at the company. He was previously a Senior Director with Richard Ellis, CB Hillier Parker and CB Richard Ellis. In 2004, Alan set up his own property consultancy, working with a mixture of private and corporate clients, including the Manchester Airport Group, UK Land & Property and the Guardian Media Group.

NJL Consulting Managing Director Nick Lee expressed his delight at the appointment, which comes amid a period of sustained growth for the company.

He said: “Following a bumper 2013, where we achieved a 100% success rate with our planning applications on behalf of clients, the future looks rosy for NJL Consulting.

“Alan’s appointment follows a major restructuring of the business and the appointment of key personnel as Directors with a view to catering for our key practice areas; namely residential planning, commercial development and environmental consultancy.

“His business development role will help us capitalise on our recent successes and comes ahead of further planned expansions, which we’ll undoubtedly have more news on soon.”
