GE Aviation Wales appoints new Operations Leader

Engine overhaul facility, GE Aviation Wales, has appointed a new Operations Product Leader.

Damian Jacobs, 40, from Malaysia, joins the leadership team as the Operations Product Leader for the CFM engine line.

In his role, Damian will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the CFM engine line, health and safety, quality, delivery metrics and production.

On his appointment, Damian commented: “I am pleased to be joining GE Aviation Wales. GE Wales has built its reputation on business excellence, quality and customer service. GE Wales employs a highly skilled and dynamic workforce and I am looking forward to working with the wider team to support the company’s global CFM customer base.”

Damian joined GE in 1997 as an engineer and during his 17 year career with GE has held roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to joining GE Aviation Wales, Damian was an Operations Manager at GE Malaysia and held responsibilities for materials, production control, logistics, site inventory and delivery metrics.

On Damian’s appointment, Managing Director of GE Aviation Wales, Mike Patton said: “Damian has strong leadership experience with proven strategic planning and business skills. He will undoubtedly be an asset to the leadership team and I am confident that Damian has the experience and expertise needed to continue to build on the company’s success and support the continued growth of the business.”

The CFM56 is the world’s most popular aircraft engine. GE Aviation Wales specialises in the overhaul and repair of the engines, which power the Airbus A320, for more than 20 customers worldwide.
