A leading Site Manager at Hale Construction has been named LABC Warranty’s top Site Manager.
LABC, which delivers high quality building control through Local Authorities holds annual awards to recognise the most dedicated individuals and construction companies operating throughout the UK.
Hale’s Matt Hall, Site Manager at the company’s prestigious waterfront developments at SA1 and Harbour View, was thrilled to receive the accolade after being nominated by LABC inspector Tony Lloyd, with whom he has built up an exemplary working relationship since beginning working with Hale 14 years ago.
The LABC Warranty Site Manager Awards have been designed to provide recognition and reward for site managers who achieve the highest standards of construction and Matthew, 30, from Llansamlet, said: “We have been inspected at every stage of the build and I felt very privileged to be short listed. I was delighted with winning the award and would like to thank Hale Construction for giving me the opportunity to manage these fantastic developments and also my workforce and family for their support.
“Building homes to the highest standard is very important to me and working closely with LABC Inspector Tony Lloyd has allowed me to achieve this.”
LABC Warranty has seen build standards improve, despite the recent challenges facing the construction industry, and is delighted with the standard of qualifiers put forward this year. With over 2500 eligible site managers at the start of the competition, Matthew was shortlisted to the final 43 finalists of which 15 regional winners were selected, with Matthew named Wales’ winner.
Finalists were judged on their attention to all aspects of construction, from Health and Safety and cleanliness to quality of work, materials storage and cost control and the 15 regional winners will proceed to the national finals later this year, where they will go head to head.

We are always keen to promote from within where possible and pride ourselves on developing team talent through training and support. The awards we have won over the years are testament to this.”
