Gethin Jones hosts Ladies Night

As part of Cardiff Blues and Wales rugby legend Tom Shanklin’s testimonial celebrations, female rugby fans are being given the once in a lifetime opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Wales’ sexiest players.

Strictly Come Dancing star, Gethin Jones, is hosting a Ladies Night with a difference on 30th November, where some of rugby’s most famous faces will be wining and dining lucky guests.

Women will compete against each other, in a Take Me Out style contest, for the opportunity to have players such as Jamie Roberts, Jonathan Thomas and Xavier Rush, sitting on their table for the evening.

The event is being held at the Cardiff Blues Stadium and there will be plenty of opportunity to mingle with players, as well the chance to walk away with amazing prizes in the auction and raffle.

On the evening, Tom said: “Gethin and a few of the Blues boys wanted to help me celebrate my testimonial in style so I thought I’d make the most of their offer and do something for female fans for a change. This is a very tongue in cheek event but we hope that it will be lots of fun for everyone involved.”

Ladies Night is part of Shanklin’s testimonial year which has been awarded to him by Cardiff Blues. Cardiff Blues Chief Executive, Robert Norster, said; “Tom has been an outstanding and consistent performer at the very highest level of the game, whose glittering career has sadly been cut short by injury. We can no longer support him on the pitch but I’m sure that there will be plenty of Wales and Blues fans who will get behind him as he hosts various events throughout the year.”

Representing London Welsh, Saracens, Cardiff Blues, Wales, Barbarians and the British and Irish Lions, Shanks enjoyed an illustrious career spanning over a decade before a knee injury forced him to retire from the game in 2011.

The Tom Shanklin Testimonial year provides an opportunity for Shanks’ supporters from Wales and beyond to pay tribute to this hugely dedicated servant of the sport, his region and his country.
