West Point Construction building for the future

An expanding construction company and groundwork contractor is building for the future with a move to a new HQ.

West Point Construction has acquired the former Brooklyn Ford commercial vehicle site at Fishing Line Road, Redditch, in a six-figure deal put together by property agents John Truslove.

It comes as the construction sector is improving fast in line with the wider economy.

Ian Parker, a John Truslove partner, said: “Business confidence is on the rise across the board and companies are looking to grow and develop.

“West Point Construction is a very active, go-ahead concern which is well-regarded in the sector. It is great to see it doing well.”

Carl Lovell of West Point Construction said: “We have successfully established a reputation within the industry for quality and high levels of productivity, together with a focused approach to health and safety, innovation with regard to value added engineering, and problematic ground condition solutions which enable our business to service both the speculative and social housing building market as well as the commercial and industrial development sectors.

“We believe this broad range of expertise is unique to West Point and that is why we are winning new business and extending our client base.”

On the housing side customers include a number of national builders working on major new housing developments with hundreds of units for sale. Operations include the likes of large civil infrastructures, roads and sewer work, combined with storm water attenuation schemes.

The company also has an active plant hire division.

West Point Construction’s new premises comprise 6,054 sq ft of offices set in 1.1 acres.

It is within walking distance of Redditch town centre and just four miles from Junction 2 of the M42.

“It is a great location,” noted Mr Lovell. “It will enable us to take the next step change.”
