The Vinden Partnership appointed to oversee construction of combined Fire and Constabulary Headquarters

Bolton-based construction advisory firm, The Vinden Partnership (TVP) has recently been appointed to provide project management, quantity surveying and CMD-C support for the construction of a new joint headquarters between Derbyshire Constabulary and the fire authorities.

The new headquarters is TVP’s newest flagship project and reflects the company’s reputation on nationwide projects. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, The Vinden Partnership has decades of experience in quantity surveying and project management.

The headquarters, which will be based in Ripley on the existing constabulary campus, is set to house approximately 550 staff across a number of different departments. It is also envisaged that this building will act as a catalyst for future working relationships between the emergency services.

A multi-disciplinary partnership between The Vinden Partnership, WYG and architects Calderpeel FGP was created after they won a competition to design the building. The dynamic collaboration has ensured that expertise in each area of the process has been brought together to facilitate an excellent end result and smooth production process.

Peter Vinden, managing director at The Vinden Partnership comments, “We are delighted to have been appointed to oversee the project management of the new headquarters in Derbyshire. The scale of the project is a great indication of talent, investment and industry recovery.

“We are experts in CDM and have an in-depth understanding of the construction market and its processes which can be invaluable to projects of this magnitude. Working with the other teams has also meant that we have formed sustainable professional relationships that we would like to see develop again in the future.”

The project has recently been submitted for planning and it is intended that construction work start later this year. WYG and architects Calderpeel FGP are also working on the project.
