LSH lets 100,000 sq ft to create 19 new jobs

The Industrial and Logistics team at the Yorkshire office of commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has successfully let Scunthorpe’s largest speculatively built industrial unit, B100M, on behalf of North Lincolnshire Council.

Situated on Normanby Enterprise Park, the unit provides a new 100,000 sq ft detached high bay warehouse with two-storey ancillary offices on a fully secure site. The property has been let to Bulten Ltd.

North Lincolnshire Council delivered B100M, in conjunction with the European Regional Development Fund, to attract interest from both manufacturers and distribution companies with the aim of generating further job opportunities for the area. Bulten Ltd is one of the largest suppliers of fasteners to the European automotive market, developing, manufacturing and marketing a wide range of metallic fasteners and related services.  The move is expected to create an additional 14 new jobs for the region initially.

Robert Whatmuff, Head of LSH Leeds and Director of Industrial and Logistics at LSH, commented, “The letting to Bulten Ltd demonstrates the confidence that is pervading the Northern industrial market. It also signifies B100m’s remarkable ability to accommodate the business’ growth plans, so we are delighted that North Lincolnshire Council appointed LSH to assist with the letting of the units.

Neal Thomas, Managing Director at Bulten Ltd said, “The new logistics centre will be modern and better suited to the needs of our business. It also has the possibility to expand, which is important and in line with Bulten’s potential to grow its business in the years to come. The new operational facility, once fully implemented, will provide expected efficiency savings of approximately 10% but will also, importantly, drive employment in the area and further the Northern industrial economy. We are extremely pleased to maintain and grow our presence within Scunthorpe.”

Cllr John Briggs, cabinet member for asset management, culture and housing, said:
‘LSH facilitated the transaction with great professionalism and competence. Having an already well-established company like Bulten Ltd obtain the site is a bonus and furthers the council’s endeavours to promote and support local and regional business and facilitate growth in our local economy.”
