Shakespeares backs growing family businesses

Shakespeares, the second largest law firm in the Midlands, is backing the regions only not-for-profit independent Awards for family businesses and their owners.

The firm is sponsor of the Fastest Growing Family Business category in the Midlands Family Business Awards that is organised by third generation family business The Wilson Organisation.

“In the last five years, Shakespeares has successfully grown to become one of the Midlands leading and largest law firms,” comments Charlotte Perkins, MD of The Wilson Organisation.

2014 is the fifth year for the not-for-profit, independent Midlands Family Business Awards. Family businesses can enter free of charge and submissions can be made from the 1st May when the Awards have their official launch In the East Midlands with a ‘teatime tapas’ event at Iberico Derby.

Since their launch, the not-for-profit Awards have raised in the region of £20,000 for charities supporting young people and enterprise. For the fourth consecutive year, they have Midlands’ accountants and business advisors Smith Cooper as headline sponsor.

The reigning Midlands Family Business of the Year is manufacturer Belton Massey, Europe’s largest independent manufacturer of high quality, non-original catalytic converters.
