UK brief for facilities management specialist

Darren Tozer from Colliers International’s Bristol office has been appointed to head up the firm’s facilities management team across the UK.

Based in the Broad Quay office for the past seven years, Darren will now be tasked with building on the market leading facilities management service that Colliers International provides, with particular emphasis on tenant engagement and sustainability.

Head of Investment Property Management Mike Bull said: “Darren is recognised as a driver of new ideas and both tenants and clients respond to his enthusiasm as well as his operational insights.

“He has brought forward some very exciting new initiatives which we trialled here in the South West before rolling out to the rest of the UK including 0 per cent Waste to Landfill, the 100 per cent Green Energy Procurement framework and the introduction of remote, tablet based working for facilities managers which has significantly improved their efficiency.

“He has a great track record for developing a real rapport with tenants and landlords and a real understanding of what makes a building tick – tenants, clients and colleagues alike respond to his enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to his job.

“His efforts have helped ensure the IPM team maintains its position as one of the best performing sectors of the business.”

The Bristol team is leading the way developing sustainable energy programmes for commercial properties and helped launch a framework agreement for the procurement of electricity from 100 per cent green energy sources.

Darren said: “I’m extremely pleased to have been given this opportunity to capitalise on the strengths of the team. It’ll be my job to deliver a consistently strong and client focussed service throughout the UK.

“We can really make a difference at the sites we manage. Sustainability isn’t just about large, brand new flagship buildings but also about making sure we look at how existing buildings and the businesses that occupy them can be made as environmentally sustainable as possible whilst helping our clients and their tenants to save money and reduce their carbon footprint.”
