CBRE strengthens northern industrial agency team

CBRE has strengthened its northern industrial agency capabilities with the appointment of sector expert, Mike Baugh, as Senior Director of National Logistics and Industrial Agency.

Mike is returning to CBRE after an eight-year stint at DTZ and will be working on the firm’s extensive client instructions across the whole of the Yorkshire region, North East and North Midlands from his new base at CBRE’s Leeds office.

With instructions on almost three million sq ft of standing industrial/distribution stock over some 600 acres of land within the region, CBRE’s Leeds-based team is a dominant force within the northern industrial sector. Having been responsible for some of the region’s most significant recent industrial transactions including lettings to Debenhams at Sherburn Distribution Park (667,000 sq ft) and Ellbee at Nexus 36, Barnsley (205,000 sq ft), Mike has a strong track record within the sector. In his new role at CBRE, Mike’s initial responsibilities will be to grow the team whilst ensuring the continued delivery of service excellence to CBRE’s extensive client base.

Speaking about the move, Mike said; “Having spent nine years at CBRE earlier in my career, I am delighted to be returning to the team in driving forwards its northern industrial business and attracting new occupiers to the region. It is an exciting time in the market, with existing supply reducing and design and build activity improving. Deliverable development land will become an increasingly important factor for take-up in the coming years. I look forward to working with CBRE’s diverse client base.”

Richard Sunderland, Managing Director of CBRE Leeds, added; “CBRE has formed a real network of excellence within the UK’s industrial sector and this significant appointment demonstrates our continued commitment to providing the highest possible levels of service to our valued clients.

“Mike is exceptionally well respected within the industry and brings with him a wealth of experience within the region and further afield. His unrivalled expertise and forward-thinking attitude will undoubtedly be a major asset for our Leeds team and we welcome him wholeheartedly back to the business.”
