Certus CEO among world’s leading 250 managers

The CEO of one of Wales’ leading IT consultancies, Certus TG, has been recognised in a global list of the top 250 executives in the managed service sector for the third year running.

Paul Brown, who co-founded the company in 2000, has been selected to appear in Nine Lives Media’s sixth annual MSPmentor 250 list of executives, entrepreneurs and experts, one of only two executive from Wales to make the list.

The list is drawn from around 7,000 candidates from across the globe who are working in managed service industries such as business, technology, sales, marketing and community development.

Over the last 13 years Mr Brown has worked to turn Certus into one of the largest specialised IT consultancies in Wales, growing the business from a skeleton staff of two, into a team of 30 with an annual turnover of more than £3 million.

Mr Brown said: “I am honoured to be recognised as part of the MSPmentor 250 list, although I wouldn’t be where I am without a strong team behind me.

“Certus TG has taken some huge steps forward during the last few years. We have restructured the company to drive growth at home in Wales and opened a new London office to better service our clients in the south east of England.

“We are an ambitious company with a strong vision for the future and have plans to grow our team to around 80 members of staff by 2016. This accolade is recognition for all that hard work.”

Amy Katz, president of Nine Lives Media, said: “We congratulate Paul Brown on this distinguished honour and thank our readership community for submitting the nomination.

Earlier this year Certus opened an office in Hemel Hempstead and appointed the former Wales captain, Paul Thorburn, to drive business in Swansea and west Wales. It has also been awarded partner status with the likes of Dell and Virgin Media, and is one of the few companies in Wales licensed to sell their products.

Headquarted at Celtic Springs near Newport, Certus TG is one of Wales’ largest IT consultancies supporting 120 companies. Current clients include the Millennium Stadium, Freshwater, Broomfield & Alexander, Premier Global, Julian Hodge Bank, Tenovus and Watts Gregory LLP.
