Global insurance broker sets up specialist division in Cardiff

Multinational insurance broker Howden Broking Group has chosen Cardiff as the site for its new Employee Benefits division.

Howden recently acquired local specialist Workplace Pensions Solutions UK Limited, to provide the specialist skills and expertise for the new business. It has leased a 1,772 sq ft suite of offices at Glamorgan House on Cardiff Gate Business Park on a five year lease.
Landlord Glamorgan Telecom Limited was advised by Emanuel Jones and Howden by the Cardiff office of Knight Frank.

Robbie Weston, managing director of Howden Employee Benefits, said: “Becoming a part of Howden provides both financial resources and access to a significant client base, as work continues to grow and develop the business.

“There are clear financial benefits in being based in Cardiff rather than London, and Knight Frank found us the ideal office in a great location at excellent value.”

Matt Phillips, managing partner at Knight Frank, said: “Cardiff Gate’s location with direct access to junction 30 of the M4 made it an ideal choice for this growing business. The ground floor offices have been fully refitted to suit their needs.”

Rob Emanuel, chairman of Emanuel Jones, added: “There is increased activity in the market for office accommodation in business parks and Cardiff Gate remains very popular as one of the city’s prime out of town locations.”
