Acorn affirms diversity commitment

Leading UK multi-regional recruitment and training company Acorn Group has renewed its commitment to recruiting and selecting as diverse a range of candidates as possible for all employment opportunities.

Acorn has also pledged to continue to provide all of its recruitment consultants with equality and diversity training, ensuring job-seekers and applicants continue to be treated with respect, and that all recruitment and selection procedures are free from discrimination.

Acorn Group Managing Director Matt Southall confirmed the commitment in the re-signing of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation Diversity Pledge.

The Diversity pledge – launched at the end of 2005 by REC and Jobcentre Plus – is a commitment made by recruiters to harness the talent and potential of everyone to achieve business success.

Matt said: “As a reputable and ethical agency we recognize the significant benefits this pledge demonstrates to our clients, job-seekers and staff.

“It is an important commitment because it ensures we can continue to select from the widest pool of candidates, allowing us to fulfill our clients’ requirements quickly and effectively; and as all our consultants are fully-trained we are also able to advise employers on their obligations under the 2010 Equality Act.

“Ultimately our clients will continue to benefit from the knowledge and experience that a diverse workforce brings.”
