Annual networking event to benefit children’s charity

Cardiff-based charity Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales is holding its annual business networking event to help raise funds for children with cerebral palsy as part of Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month.

The event, which is sponsored by HardingEvans Solicitors, is being held on Friday 18th October at St David’s Hotel and Spa with Paralympic cyclist Mark Colbourne MBE as keynote speaker.

Bobath Wales is HardingEvans’ charity of the year and was chosen for the amazing work they do for children with cerebral palsy, providing specialist Bobath therapy to children from all over Wales.

Cerebral palsy is a neurological condition which affects the brain and nervous system. It is caused by damage to the brain, which normally occurs before, during or up to two years after birth.

Ken Thomas, Partner and Head of Clinical Negligence at the Newport based law firm said: “My team represents parents whose children have suffered serious injury as a result of problems/negligence in childbirth. Some of these children have cerebral palsy and we have witnessed at first hand the impact both physically and emotionally this can have on the child itself and the family. For this reason we fully understand the vital work that Bobath Wales carry out and are delighted to support them in raising much needed funds”

Gail Griffiths, head of fundraising and retail from Bobath Wales, said: “I hope that as many people as possible will join us for this event in order to help us to continue to make a difference to children across Wales who have cerebral palsy.

“We are extremely grateful to HardingEvans for all the support that they have provided for us this year.”
