Investing in rising stars

Banks Long & Co, Chartered Surveyor of Lincoln, is reporting an upturn in both transactional activity and general market confidence across all sectors.

Director Tim Bradford said: “Whilst it will still be a long road to recovery, the general air of caution appears to have been replaced by a more positive attitude from occupiers, investors and developers.

“Banks Long continues to be at the forefront of the Lincolnshire property market and our work on a number of high profile schemes has seen us receive National recognition as the most active commercial agents in the County,” he said.

This has prompted the company to invest in a crop of young surveyors, tasked with adding to and complementing the work of the established team.

“I am pleased to welcome Tom Strawson to the Company, especially as he has already built an excellent reputation within our profession,” added Tim.

Tom is a fully-qualified Chartered Surveyor and has arrived at the firm on the back
of three very successful years at the Nottingham-based firm heb.

Tom, who originally hails from North Lincolnshire, said: “I’m hugely excited to join such a strong, independent practice, where I can continue to build my retail and leisure expertise, as well as broaden my experience into wider fields.”

Tom will be working alongside Tim Bradford and specifically concentrating on high-end agency instructions and new-build developments.

Tom is joined by Jag Landa, a trainee surveyor from Nottingham, who has completed his Masters Degree in Planning and Development at Nottingham Trent University.

Jag said: “My family has been active within the property industry for many years
and I was therefore aware of how well Banks Long is regarded. Having come to meet with the Directors, it was clear that I would be given the chance to develop
my skills, particularly in the retail sector through my work with Director James Butcher.”

The third new arrival is Jonny Purkiss from Tealby. Jonny has taken a year
out from Northumbria University in Newcastle, where he is studying estate
management and will be assisting Director William Wall in the business space department.
