National healthcare firm moves in to Taunton’s Victoria House

A national healthcare company with offices throughout the UK has opened a new branch in the heart of Taunton, in the Manning Suite of the recently-refurbished Victoria House.

Nurse Plus, which specialises in providing flexible staffing solutions for the healthcare industry, has 29 branches throughout the UK, and identified Victoria House as the ideal location for its Somerset operations following the office’s recent £1 million refurbishment by Summerfield Developments.

Siobhan Stewart, Nurse Plus’ Branch Manager, who has lived in Taunton for over 20 years and manages the new branch, says:

“My colleagues and I have been incredibly impressed with the marvellous support and help that we have received from Summerfield with our new branch opening. Our office has had a number of changes made to it to suit our requirements, including the construction of a new partition wall and other finishing touches, to make it just as we want it. Everything is newly decorated to a very high standard; it’s a fantastic new workspace”.

Located right in the centre of the popular town of Taunton, Victoria House provides the ideal base for the growing company to work alongside its other South West offices:

“The location is excellent, as is the parking, the ease of walking to the town centre and the opportunity to work in a shared office space with other businesses such as Community Council for Somerset who are also on the second floor with us” adds Siobhan.

“As a business we will be looking to get established and grow in the local area over the coming 12 months and beyond, and Victoria House offers us the flexibility to do this”.

Victoria House was originally constructed in 1962 and has now been managed by Summerfield as an office center for close to twenty years. In 2012, the company invested in excess of £1 million into transforming the building, with work including the creation of a new entrance, the replacement of all of the windows and the installation of photovoltaic cells on the roof, designed to generate power in order to offset the carbon footprint of the building.

The large, open plan office space at Victoria House currently houses a range of local businesses, from sole traders through to large organisations such as Diabetes UK and international services company Serco.

James Holyday, Divisional Director for Summerfield, was pleased to welcome the new tenants to the building:

“We’re delighted that Nurse Plus have opened a branch at Victoria House, joining the large number of companies that are already running their business operations successfully from here. Due to the extensive facilities on offer and the close proximity to the town centre, it’s the perfect base for the growing business”.

Competitively priced office space, ranging in size from 100 sq. ft. up to 7,000 sq. ft., is now available to rent from specialist property adviser Hatfield White, and offers both small and medium-sized business a range of benefits and facilities including on-site parking, a health club, Wi-Fi and a communal area.
