Sale of former corporate headquarters to Bristol City Council

bcA 45,000 sq ft office sale has occurred in Southville, Bristol. Imperial Tobacco Group’s existing headquarters in Southville has now been sold to Bristol City Council for a new primary school to serve the increasing demand in the area.

Mayor George Ferguson said “This former factory site in Upton Road makes good common sense for Ashton Gate Primary School. Sites like this which meet our requirements are at a premium in the City and we need to move quickly if we are to meet the predicted shortfall in places over the next few years.”

David Burston, Burston Cook, who acted for Imperial Tobacco in the sale to Bristol City Council comments “we are delighted to have assisted the Group in selling the property to accommodate the Council’s strategic purchase for a much needed school in the Southville catchment. It is pleasing to see the building earmarked for reuse for educational purposes after over 110 years of occupation by Imperial.”
