On the fast track to success

Leicestershire-based Eco Track & Access Ltd (ETA) was pronounced ‘Newcomer of the Year’ in the prestigious Leicester Mercury Business Awards. Founded in 2011, ETA’s extensive product portfolio includes flagship systems, Eco Terra-Tech instant roadway and Eco Gridmat portable flooring together with a diverse array of other flooring solutions such as dance floors and helicopter landing zones.

Recognised for its commitment to innovation as well as its inward investment in Leicestershire both in terms of manufacturing and sourcing local labour, ETA was also able to demonstrate a healthy client base including live event production companies, sporting arenas, civil engineering firms and construction specialists.

Sponsor and judge for the Newcomer category, Julian Middleton of Freeth Cartwright commented: “ETA won the award for its innovative approach, the strength of the product and the commitment of its staff – all of which were exceptional.”

Since inception, ETA has won contracts across Europe, the Middle East, Far East and Africa as well as for many events across the UK including at Olympic venues in Glasgow and London and the Diamonds in the Park on the Powys Estate in Wales.

Speaking after the ceremony, Jonathan Vaughan, chief executive of ETA said: “Despite setting up this business in the depths of a recession, we have managed to meet and exceed all expectations! To win this award in only our second year of trading is a tremendous achievement and the team is elated. We are confident it will act as a significant catalyst for the further development of the business.”

ETA was also awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the ‘Best Flooring and Roadway Supplier’ category at the 2013 Event Production Awards.
