Strong run of Lace Market deals highlights demand for quality Nottingham office space

NG Chartered Surveyors has completed a series of office lettings in Nottingham’s Lace Market, reinforcing the resilience of the city centre office market and demonstrating that investment in high-quality workspace continues to attract occupiers.

Over recent months, the agency has agreed lettings to Smartmove Homes at 2 Broadway, Lewis & Hickey Architects at The Courtyard on St Mary’s Gate, Walton & Allen Estate Agents at 35-37 St Mary’s Gate and Dice Consulting Engineers, which has taken 2,450 sq ft across three floors at 4-6 Broadway. A further two office suites, at 4-6 Broadway and 2 Broadway, are now under offer.

The deals reflect continued demand from professional services businesses seeking characterful office accommodation in Nottingham city centre, with refurbished period buildings in the Lace Market proving particularly attractive.

Thomas Szymkiw, Director at NG Chartered Surveyors, said: “There’s been plenty of discussion around the challenges facing the office market, but these deals show there’s still healthy demand for good quality space in the right locations. Businesses continue to value the character, accessibility and amenities that the Lace Market offers.

“A common theme across these transactions is that our clients have invested in improving their buildings. Occupiers have become more discerning, and landlords who are prepared to refurbish and modernise their properties are seeing that investment rewarded through strong levels of interest and successful lettings.

“We’ve also seen a broad mix of occupiers choosing the area, which underlines the strength and diversity of Nottingham’s professional services sector. With further space already under offer, we’re optimistic that activity will continue through the remainder of the year.”

NG Chartered Surveyors continues to market several office opportunities in the Lace Market, including space at 2 Broadway, 19 Stoney Street and 21 Stoney Street, where it expects continued interest as businesses look to secure well-located, high-quality office accommodation in the city centre.
