Luxury Torquay hotel changes hands

International real estate advisor Savills, together with Christie & Co, has advised on the sale of Lincombe Hall Hotel & Spa from Powis Hotels to Khalil Viraney, off a guide price of £3.25 million.

Completed in 2019, The Lincombe Spa has established itself as a popular destination spa and is one of only two luxury 5‑Bubble spas in Devon. It offers high quality facilities including a hydrotherapy pool, indoor swimming pool and ice room.

The 44 bedroom, four-star hotel has benefited from significant recent investment and offers a newly refurbished brasserie, breakfast room, lounge and large terrace. The hotel also includes two self-catering apartments and is set within 2.58 acres of mature gardens.

Dominic Hollingsworth, Partner, Elevate Legal, says, “I, together with Krista Searle who heads up the Commercial Property team at Elevate, were delighted to advise Powis Hotels Limited on the successful sale of Lincombe Hall Hotel & Spa, one of Torquay’s best hotels. The transaction was completed efficiently and in a spirit of cooperation between all parties and we are proud to have played a role in this milestone. We wish the new owner every success for the future.”

James Greenslade, Director, Savills Hotel Capital Markets, adds, “This transaction highlights the continued demand for high quality regional assets, particularly those that appeal to the growing demand amongst consumers for high quality spa and wellness facilities. Lincombe Hall has an outstanding reputation and is positioned well for further growth under new ownership.”
