Schroders Capital’s real estate business has announced that its 30-storey city-centre office building, City Tower, has been awarded the highly respected 3-star Fitwel Multi-Tenant Base Building v2.1 Certification1, the highest possible rating a building can receive under Fitwel. Fitwel is recognised for measuring how well buildings promote the health and wellbeing of occupants, providing performance data on hundreds of different projects registered and certified globally.
This accreditation marks the first 3 Star rating from an existing commercial building within the whole of the North West of England – outlining Schroders Capital’s ongoing commitment to creating best-in-class occupier experiences and sustainable workplaces.
City Tower’s 3 Star Certification reflects a number of initiatives to enhance workplace wellness. These include walking trails along canal paths and on-site yoga, which promote and encourage an active work life. City Tower scored particularly well for its availability of adaptable shared space for occupier engagement and collaboration.
In support of sustainable and healthy commuting, City Tower was also commended for offering outstanding travel facilities, encouraging green travel for all occupants. The building also embraces biodiversity through its on-site apiary and dedicated areas for growing fruits and herbs, as well as an on-site bee-keeping space.
