Dexcel Pharma, a global pharmaceutical company, is making a strategic move from Daventry to IM Properties’ Bourn Building in Coventry, to accommodate its future growth, creating multiple jobs over the next five years.

The decision to relocate is driven by Dexcel’s commitment to enhancing workplace quality, improving operational efficiencies, and aligning with the sustainability and community-focused ethos of Bourn.

Located in the heart of Coventry’s business hub, Bourn provides a net zero-ready, smart-enabled environment designed to meet the needs of forward-thinking businesses seeking a high-quality, sustainable workplace.

Craig Millard, Director of Finance & HR, from Dexcel said: “With innovation at the core of everything we do as a business, we embraced the story behind Bourn and its transformation – creating a building built for the future and the evolving needs of its occupiers through use of technology, industry-leading green initiatives and a focus on wellbeing.

“It provides a high-quality working environment that enhances our efficiency, supports our sustainability commitments and underlines our commitment to enhancing people’s lives, connecting us with a vibrant business community.”

Bourn is powered by renewably sourced energy, holds a BREEAM Very Good certification, and has an EPC rating of A.

Rob Hemus, Director of Asset Management and Sustainability at IM Properties said:

“We’re really starting to see our vision for Bourn come to fruition with like-minded businesses building a community, bringing new life and opportunity to the transformed offices.

“We know, like our current occupiers, Corona Energy, GIM and Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Dexcel employees are going to enjoy making connections through our regular wellness classes, pop-up events and collaborations with local communities”

Corona Energy recently announced its continued expansion in the building, creating an additional 150 jobs on top of the 60 existing jobs announced when it moved.

Hemus continued: “Dexcel is a natural fit for Bourn. The company is driven by innovation and is a value-led business committed to empowering people to live their best lives, nurturing talent to keep it at the forefront of the medical industry.”

To create an added sense of place, a dedicated Bourn app helps act as a hub for the whole community, helping to connect occupiers to the building’s concierge team, the city and surrounding businesses and give news of the pop-up events and fitness classes to support wellbeing and help attract and retain talent.”

Located just minutes from the station, Bourn’s facilities include 16 EV car charging points, with the capacity to expand to 48 in the future, a dedicated cycle hub with bike maintenance stations, and first-class changing and shower facilities.

Internally, the building boasts a dual entrance with a double-height atrium, open floor plates, exposed M&E, and abundant natural light to maximize employee wellbeing. A Social Hub offers breakout areas, active standing stations, and a Zip Tap with filtered, chilled water.

A dedicated high-speed, dual-entry fibre ethernet infrastructure ensures businesses are future-proofed in an increasingly digital environment. Air quality monitoring and indoor greenery enhance the workspace’s biophilia, while outdoor seating areas provide additional wellbeing spaces for employees.
