Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana has confirmed that it will bring its relaxed dining experience and renowned Neapoletan pizzas to Bristol this summer, bringing 35 new jobs to the local area.
The new pizzeria will be located in the heart of Bristol, transforming the former Royal Bank of Scotland branch on Baldwin Street, which has been vacant since 2021. The spacious 3000 sq ft venue will offer 120 indoor covers, and plans also include an outdoor seating area with 35 additional covers – perfect for the warmer weather.
The new spot will deliver a fresh new dining option to Bristol’s food and drink scene, offering its famous pizzas, delicious dips, and classic Italian desserts. Whether dining with family or friends, guests can enjoy Rudy’s signature relaxed vibe while indulging in the brand’s iconic and exciting menu right on the high street.
Since launching in 2015 in Ancoats, Manchester, Rudy’s quickly gained a cult following for its authentic Neapolitan dough and quality ingredients, and the new restaurant will mark the brand’s 34th opening across the UK.
Born out of passion for pizza, Rudy’s follows the authentic Neapolitan tradition of pizza-making, serving classic recipes such as Marinara, Margherita and Calabrese – all originating from Naples, the birthplace of pizza. Rudy’s also pays homage to famous pizzerias around the globe with its rotating specials, bringing interesting and exciting flavour combinations to its fans.
Rudy’s dough is made fresh daily using Caputo ‘00’ flour which ferments for at least 24 hours, alongside the best quality ingredients from Naples, including San Marzano tomatoes grown on fields next to Mount Vesuvius, and fior di latte mozzarella.
In accordance with authentic Neapolitan techniques, the dough is cooked in a Stefano Ferrara oven for around 60 seconds – resulting in a soft and light pizza with an airy and raised cornicione (the edge or rim of the pizza).
While renowned for its first-class pizzas, Rudy’s is keen to provide a full Neapolitan experience through a well-stocked bar. Customers will be transported to the Italian sun whilst sipping on iconic spritzes, ice-cold local lagers and a multitude of soft drinks ready to excite the tastebuds.
Commenting on the new West Bridgford opening, Neal Bates of Rudy’s, said: “We can’t wait to re-open the doors of this previously unloved site in Bristol and share our passion for Neapolitan pizza with future Rudy’s lovers in the city!
“With its energetic city centre, rich culture, and thriving food scene, Bristol feels like a perfect fit for us. We’re excited to join the incredible restaurants and bars already here and become part of what makes this city so special.”
