Evelyn Partners in Bristol raises £18k for good causes

Evelyn Partners’ professional services business in Bristol has raised and donated almost £18,000 for a range of good causes in 2024.

Among last year’s fundraising efforts was a 63,000 km challenge in honour of former Bristol partner Dave Mouncey, who died in December 2022 aged 63.

Staff at Evelyn walked, ran, cycled, danced and swam a total of 63,000 km in Dave’s memory to raise funds for Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, the official charity of the Bristol Children’s Hospital.

Another highlight was Movember, for which Evelyn’s Bristol office raised a total of over £5,000 – the highest amount raised by any of the firm’s offices.

Other activities over the last 12 months included:

  • supporting St. Mungo’s with various Christmas initiatives, including gift wrapping and donations, and participating in Save the Children’s annual Christmas Jumper Day
  • assisting with warehouse distribution at anti-food poverty charity FareShare
  • raising £5,325 plus £703 gift aid for St. Peter’s Hospice by participating in the Tour de Bristol bike ride
  • organising a padel event as part of being headline sponsors at the UK Padel Schools and School Alumni Championships
  • maintaining woodlands and removing Himalayan Balsam at Ashton Court with Your Park
  • holding a litter-picking event around the Bristol Harbour
  • participating in career panels and mock interviews with SPEAR to support young people between the ages of 16-24 who are not currently working or in education

Helen Bassett, managing partner of Evelyn Partners in Bristol, said: “In 2024 we collectively raised and donated £17,749 through a range of fundraising and volunteering efforts in the Bristol office.

“This involved organising and participating in over eight community events, with 76 individual volunteering contributions from Bristol colleagues, and partnering with five new charitable organisations, expanding our reach and impact in the community.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to all of my colleagues who helped support so many important charitable causes.

“In addition to our charitable work I’m really proud of the community focus from our Bristol team during 2024. Highlights for me have been launching our Women in Business community as well as teaming up with Ethical Equity to host their Aspiring Angels meet-ups to support ethical start-ups and aspiring angel investors in underserved communities.

“Every small step in supporting equity makes a difference and we will continue to build upon our efforts in 2025.”
