Brindleyplace tenants demonstrate commitment to the estate with extended leases until 2034

Two of the most well-known restaurants in Brindleyplace have demonstrated their commitment to the prominent mixed-use estate by extending their leases until 2034.

Bank, located on the ground floor of Four Brindleyplace and Piccolino in Oozell’s Square have signed lease extensions that will guarantee their continued presence on the estate for a further 20 years.

Having first opened in 1999, Bank is widely recognised as one of Brindleyplace’s premier bar and restaurant destinations. The venue refurbished its outdoor seating area in the summer of 2012, with new glass partitions, planters and comfortable sofas.

A full internal refurbishment is now set to take place this year, including the installation of a barbecue area on the rear terrace, overlooking the canal basin.

Stephen Walker, owner of both Bank and Piccoliono’s, said: “Brindleyplace is a truly outstanding location, with a wealth of diverse businesses right on our doorstep, as well as being a popular after-hours location.

“We have enjoyed a highly successful term at Brindleyplace to date and I have full confidence both in the continued success of Brindleyplace as a destination and also the estate management under Hines and Moorfield.”

The award-winning Brindleyplace estate is owned and operated by Hines Global REIT and Moorfield Group (Moorfield) and contains both Central Square and Oozells Square, with a number of bars, restaurants and attractions, including the Sea Life Centre and IKON art gallery.

Jeremy Marchant, Moorfield Group, said: “Bank is a genuine destination restaurant and has become synonymous with high quality and the professional services sectors and Piccolino is widely recognised throughout the city as one of Birmingham’s premier Italian restaurants.

“These renewals demonstrate a truly outstanding commitment to the estate as both a business and recreation location and I am of course delighted that they have committed to remain with us at Brindleyplace for the foreseeable future.”

Brindleyplace boasts an extremely diverse mix of commercial tenants, including Deloitte, RBS, Deutsche Bank and GVA. A full range of bars, restaurants and leisure amenities are also available across the estate, including Café Rouge, the Handmade Burger Company, Bannatyne’s Health Club, and Bank bar and restaurant.
