RED Construction London appointed to deliver Morgan Capital’s development of 7 Princes Street

RED Construction Group has announced its appointment by Morgan Capital to KanAm Grund Group’s multi- million pound redevelopment of 7 Princes Street. The 54,000 sq ft office refurbishment in the City of London will be delivered by RED Construction’s London team.

Set to complete in Winter 2024, the redevelopment of the prominent site opposite the Bank of England has been designed by architects, Auckett Swanke. The ‘back to frame’ refurbishment will see RED Construction London reimagine the existing 1960s building for the ‘post pandemic’ workforce, with extensive tenant amenity and cutting-edge sustainability credentials, including BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ and NABERS 5* targets.

Alongside the creation of two additional floors, the façade will undergo an energy-efficient reconstruction, consisting of new Curtain Walling, Natural Limestone, and a Glazed Ceramic rainscreen. A new UKPN Substation will be implemented allowing for safer electricity delivery within the area. The redevelopment will also modernise the building, creating new private and communal terraces available to visitors with extensive Greening Factors.

Dave Osborne, Group Director at RED Construction London, commented: “We are delighted to have been appointed by Morgan Capital, to refurbish such a key building within the City’s landscape. The site’s scale and heritage present unique construction challenges, but the experience and expertise of our London team is perfectly suited to this type of work. There is no doubt we will add great value to the landmark 7 Princes Street project, as a well-considered scheme fit for the future.”

The news follows RED Construction London’s appointment to deliver elevated office spaces within Barwood Capital’s multi-million-pound redevelopment of ‘Explore’. Located in Richmond, South West London, the office building, formerly known as ‘Eton House’ is currently undergoing a 45,000 sq ft transformation. The redevelopment will centre on creating prime sustainable office spaces with an emphasis on sustainability and employee mental health and well-being.
