Leading commercial property consultancy Alder King has announced two senior promotions and two new appointments in its Bristol office.

James Mackay has been promoted to the newly created role of Head of Valuation and Viability. James, who joined Alder King as a graduate in 1999 and became a partner in 2013, has been responsible for the delivery of valuation services in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire since 2010. In addition to his valuation expertise, James has over the past 13 years developed Alder King’s development viability service, acting for private developers across the UK including acting as an Expert Witness at planning appeals. This latest promotion recognises the success James has made of these dual roles and will see him take responsibility for all valuation and viability work across the firm.

Tom Dugay, one of Bristol’s leading office agents, has been promoted to partner within Alder King’s agency team. Tom has nearly 20 years’ experience in the Greater Bristol office market and has acted for many national and regional clients including Legal & General UK Property Fund, St Monica Trust and BAE Systems. Tom is a well-known local industry figure and current committee member of the Bristol Property Agents Association (BPAA).

Alder King has also made two new appointments in its fast-growing residential development team.

Hannah will provide senior level resource to the residential development team, utilising her previous experience working for plc housebuilders, SME developers and housing associations in addition to her experience in the build to rent, co-living and student markets. Hannah also has extensive development viability experience, further extending the range of services offered to the team’s landowner and developer clients.

Sam Carson has joined the residential development team as an associate. A UWE graduate, Sam will focus on development viability, working closely with James Mackay. Sam brings valuable viability and valuation experience from his previous role at London-based Turner Morum.
