Chris Taylor appointed Kymin Operations Director as the South Wales financial services business continues to expand

Leading South Wales financial services group Kymin has appointed Chris Taylor to a key new role of Operations Director.

Chris, who is already on the Board of Directors of Bridge Street, Newport headquartered Kymin has been promoted to the role from Sales Director after previously being Head of Paraplanning.

Chris, aged 34, from Newport, who returned to study after leaving Duffryn School aged 16 with eight GCSE’s, had previously worked as a paralegal for a large firm in Cardiff.

The key appointment is the first by Kymin’s new Managing Director Robin Hall.

Robin said: “Chris has been a valuable member of the management team over the past six years and has been instrumental in helping the company get to where we are today. I see the next few years as being very exciting for Kymin.
He said: “We are looking to grow organically but if the right opportunity arises for acquisition we would always look at it.
“Kymin which is celebrating its 20th year in business had the best year in 2012 in terms of turnover. One of my many goals as MD, with the help of my fellow directors, is to continue to build on this.”

Chris said: “My new role contains many new responsibilities. Due to the recent restructuring of the business and the introduction of the FSA’s Retail Distribution Review (RDR), my role and responsibilities have changed as, under the new regulations, Kymin is no longer a sales based organisation.

“The role of Operations Director within Kymin involves managing our financial planners, the paraplanning team and overseeing the whole operation within the company. I will be looking to maximise efficiency within the company on all levels. In addition, I will be concentrating on business development for the group. My business development role will involve building and maintaining relations with a range of professional connections within the area.”

After years of studying at night, while holding down his day job, Chris attained an A-level in Economics, HNC Accounting and Finance and a degree in Business Administration from UWN’s former now redeveloped Allt-yr-yn Campus.

Robin Hall took over as Managing Director at Kymin from Gerald Davies who is now Chief Executive of the business.
