CAMA to move into new 27,500 sq ft unit at Airport Business Park Southend

Airport Business Park Southend (ABPS) is set for further expansion as property developer HBD secured planning permission for a new 27,500 sq. ft. unit.

The building will be purpose built for CAMA AssetStore, a sustainability-focused storage and asset management facility specialising in the reuse of sets, props & costumes for film & TV. By investing in the circular economy CAMA supports the film industry to reduce both their production budgets and carbon impact. This service is made possible through their unique asset management software that enables their clients to be in control of their assets and make sustainable choices.

ABPS forms part of an ambitious new vision for Southend-on-Sea. It is being delivered in partnership between HBD and Southend-on-Sea City Council.

£150m is being invested in delivering high-quality space and infrastructure, creating a collaborative ecosystem to drive growth. The “Launchpad”, a dedicated facility designed to champion innovation for start-ups and SMEs, will be ready for occupation in early 2023.

Michaele Apostolides, Managing Director of CAMA, said: “We are seeing a positive change in the film industry, with a commitment to the efficient reuse of sets, props and costumes. It is this passion for storage and reuse of production assets that is driving our development in Southend. We love East London and Essex so having a base here is an exciting opportunity for our independent business. We particularly look forward to launching our social value initiatives in the local area, where the community can also benefit from our reuse and repurposing service.”

Harry Bunbury, Director at HBD, said: “We’re very pleased to have secured planning permission for a further 27,500 sq. ft. at Airport Business Park Southend and we look forward to welcoming CAMA. I’ve no doubt that it will prove an ideal location as the business continues to grow.”

He continued: “ABPS is an important development for Southed-on-Sea, driving new inward investment and acting as a catalyst for growth and enterprise, attracting businesses of all sizes and in a range of sectors from start-ups through to large corporates. Supply of well-located Grade A industrial and logistics stock remains extremely strained across the South East and we are continuing to see strong interest from a range of businesses looking for high-quality, purpose built space.”

Located adjacent to Southend Airport and close to major transport networks, ABPS occupiers benefit from unrivalled connectivity within an established business location.
