Innes England tops East Mids leader board of floor space deals

Innes England handled a deal turning a former HMRC building into a residential offering at Saxon House

Commercial property experts Innes England handled almost half a million square footage of floor space across the office, industrial and retail sectors during the second quarter of 2022, more than any other agent in the East Midlands, a report has shown.

The firm surged ahead with several key transactions in its core office, industrial and retail markets with an overall floor area of 484,735 sq ft between April and June this year.

That figure made it the leader board front runner in the East Midlands, according to the industry’s Estates Gazette Radius On-Demand rankings. The firm dealt with 332,338 square footage of industrial space, 29,976 sq ft of retail, and 122,421 sqft of office space – leading the pack in this sector also.

Scott Osborne, director at Innes England, said: “Continuing from Q1 we’ve had a strong Q2 in both the amount of deals we’re conducting, as well as the size of these transactions.

“Our success is owed to the entire team putting the effort in, and It’s gratifying to see their hard work paying off. However, by no means are we taking our foot off the accelerator. If anything, we see this as a challenge to beat by the time the next report is published.”

Innes England was number one in the East Midlands in terms of office space transacted and also featured in the top agent rankings for industrial and retail for the region. Deals included the 88,000 sq ft Saxon House in Leicester that has been renovated into a residential offering.

At county level, Innes England was the top agent in Leicestershire based on the number of deals for Q2, having completed significantly more transactions than any other agency.

The figures were published by the respected industry publication Estates Gazette, which looks at commercial markets nationally, regionally and by sector so that property agents can compare performances. It said that Innes England was showing its strength in the East Midlands.

Matt Hannah, managing director of Innes England, said: “As an agency, we pride ourselves on constantly learning and improving the way we work. From these latest figures, It’s clear that our strong work ethic is paying off.

“It’s been an excellent second quarter for us, and it is owed to the entire team’s determination, which I am very proud of.”

As well as opening a Birmingham office earlier this year, Innes England operates from Leicester, Nottingham, and Derby with expert teams providing the management of sales, lettings, investments, disposals and acquisitions of all commercial property.
