Maze expands logistical operations and opens its third distribution centre

Maze, the outdoor furniture creator, has opened a new distribution centre in Peterlee, County Durham. The 90,000 sq. ft space is the brand’s third distribution hub, and will act as a superb support to local communities and infrastructure.

Maze, already operating distribution centres in Haverhill and Thetford, furthers its ambitious growth plans by ensuring it offers nationwide logistical distribution. Furthermore, the third warehouse gives Maze a total of 285,000 sq. ft of storage space, helping to minimise international delays and thus increasing the brand’s reliability and assurance to consumers.

Through the new warehouse, Maze also offers greater support to its existing trade customers, giving greater flexibility and agility in the face of any supply chain challenges.

Heavy investments have also been made into the site and the area, with the warehouse providing 20 jobs. These include a warehouse manager and warehouse operatives, amongst others. The site also benefits from the latest technological developments, including integrated systems for efficient inventory management, and full stock scanning.

Speaking of the opening of the new site, Andy Baxter, managing director at Maze, stated: “We are thrilled to have opened our third distribution centre. This space further enhances our logistical capability as we head further into 2022 and focus on the further expansion of the Maze brand. It’s a very exciting time to be a garden furniture business as we’ve witnessed huge customer demand both amongst the trade and consumers, and the opening of this new site in Teesside best exemplifies this.”

Ultimately, the new warehouse will increase the availability of the brand’s stock to consumers and trade customers, matching the high levels of service that the brand is known for.

The opening of the new warehouse also coincides with a rebrand for the business, alongside a new website set to launch soon – as well as a series of exciting new product innovations over the coming months.
