It’s all systems go for Janes Pantry which is opening its biggest and best outlet yet at the new district centre in Twigworth being brought forward by Robert Hitchins Ltd.

The family-run business is kicking off the new year with store number 11 and a £300,000 investment. And, says owner Neville Morse, it’s the best so far.

“We’ve done a top-of-the-range fitout and have a great chef on board,” he said.

“It’s more than a bakery and a coffee shop – we’ve got great food, a full brunch menu, burgers, vegan meals and we’ve applied for a licence to serve alcohol.

“A passer-by popped his head around the door when we were finishing the fitout and said ‘wow’. That’s what we want – the wow factor.”

The 48-seat cafe opens this week (on Tuesday February 1), proudly boasting a new neon sign which states: “Adventure awaits, but first – cake”.

The location on the A38 is good for passing trade, added Neville, who runs Janes Pantry with his wife Tania, accountant daughter Amy and area manageress Tracy Burris.

“We’re very excited about the houses being built at Twigworth and the great road links to Gloucester and the A40. I’m sure it’s going to be a success,” he said.

Karen Vaughan-Edwards, Asset Manager at Robert Hitchins Ltd, welcomed the Janes Pantry team. “We wish them all the very best. It’s great to see the centre come to life,” she said.

“Not only does the development provide much-needed facilities for the residents of Twigworth, it also offers a great service for commuters on the A38.”

The next opening at the Twigworth mixed-use development will be the Midcounties Co-Operative’s 4,000 sq ft convenience store on February 17.

Three units remain at the centre which sits at the entrance to the new Twigworth Green development which includes 725 new homes.

Commercial property agents Arc Retail are marketing the units for rent. They range from 1,000 sq ft and can be amalgamated to create a single unit of up to 3,000 sq ft.
