Innes England kicks off 2022 with appointment of new associate director

Kartar Soar

Leading commercial property agency Innes England is off to a flying start for 2022, welcoming new associate director Kartar Soar to its Nottingham office.

Kartar joined the building consultancy team in January after moving from Birmingham, where he was a qualified building surveyor with Savills after joining the firm in 2018. Prior to this, Kartar spent a year with Prologis in the regional project management team, dealing with multi-million-pound sites such as RFI DIRFT – regarded as the UK’s most successful intermodal logistics park.

Having studied at both Trent College and Nottingham Trent University, Kartar explained he was keen to return to Nottingham with his young family. Getting to be closer to friends and loved-ones, as well as joining a top East Midlands firm was simply a no-brainer.

He said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Innes England and the team in Nottingham. When the opportunity came to discuss the work and the future of the firm, it was hard to resist – the business has such a great reputation. On top of that, being able to return to my hometown just felt right.

“With the market thriving in this region, it just felt like the right time. I’m also looking forward to passing on my knowledge and experience to graduates, particularly with the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) – a major step to becoming chartered.

“At Savills, I helped manage the current business relations but also forged new ones and it is my ambition to do this here, by working with a variety of investors and occupier clients on a diverse range of commercial, industrial and retail properties. It’s a great way to start 2022 and I hope it proves to be a year of continued growth for myself and the business.”

With the addition of Kartar, the building consultancy department, headed by director Mike Thorne, is set to go from strength to strength. There are hopes of continuing to grow the team, with Kartar taking a lead role on a variety of jobs across a broad range of subjects.

Mike said: “I’m delighted to welcome Kartar to the team and get 2022 off to a great start. Kartar brings fresh enthusiasm and a great level of experience, which we are keen to utilise and nurture.

“Within building surveying we have a broad range of services including dilapidations, commercial building surveys, development monitoring as well as design and project management. I am excited to see how Kartar will develop these areas and help us to keep expanding, as well as further supporting our existing clients.”
