Steady demand drives industrial transactions in Weston-super-Mare

Weston-super-Mare continues to experience steady demand for industrial space, say experts at Alder King after completing two further transactions in the town.

The firm’s latest transactions in Weston include the letting of AEW UK REIT’s Unit 7a Westland Distribution Park on Winterstoke Road to Miers Construction Products Ltd.

Headquartered in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, Miers is expanding its network of depots across the UK and has chosen Weston for its latest depot. The new 9,109 sq ft warehouse will open on 1 January 2022, creating six new jobs.

Miers’ expansion plans will enable it to better support its South West customers with next day delivery of concreting and brickwork accessories.

Elsewhere in Weston, Alder King has also finalised the freehold sale of Unit T Aiscombe Way. This modern, end of terrace unit was acquired by a private investor. Alder King has subsequently been tasked with finding a new tenant for the unit. There have already been several expressions of interest.

The 5,603 sq ft unit comes with 11 forecourt parking spaces and is ideally suited for use as a trade counter operation, being located just off the main thoroughfare into the town and surrounded by other modern industrial units, car dealerships and trade counter occupiers.

Emma Smith of Alder King says: “Located between the large industrial powerhouse of Bristol and Bridgwater, Weston has a great track record in attracting new businesses as well as retaining its indigenous occupiers as they grow and require more space.

“It’s very satisfying to see Miers Construction select Weston for its first depot in this area, bringing new investment and jobs to the town.”
