Savills Investment Management (Savills IM), the international real estate investment manager, has hired Michelle Sartorio as Global Head of Marketing and Communications. Based in London, she will report to Giuseppe Oriani, Co-Head, Client Capital.

A recognised industry expert in marketing, client strategy, investor relations and ESG investment, Sartorio joins the firm from KPMG where she was a Business Partner in its Markets & Growth team.

During her tenure at KPMG, Michelle held a number of go-to-market leading roles and provided counsel to its asset management, deal advisory and ESG practices. Michelle most recently acted as a global communications lead working with The World Economic Forum in its “Stakeholder Capitalism” initiative, where investment firms and corporates around the world committed to report on a set of universal ESG metrics.

Prior to KPMG, Michelle has held roles at Brookfield Asset Management as part of their global investor relations, communications and marketing team, and HSBC Global Asset Management within their global strategy team. She was also previously Head of Intermediary Marketing at LGIM.

Michelle is also an industry collaborator on major industry issues including Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) in financial services and vulnerable financial services customers, having worked with numerous initiatives and industry bodies such as TISA, SBAI, the Investment Association and AIMA. In her new role, she will sit on Savills IM’s D&I committee.

Michelle Sartorio, Global Head of Marketing and Communications, Savills Investment Management, commented: “Savills IM has a highly enviable market position with an on-the-ground presence across Europe, America and Asia-Pacific and a diverse offering across real estate sub-sectors. ESG is at the forefront of client decision making, and I am delighted to join a firm with a growing ESG commitment across all its investment strategies and the firm itself.”

Alex Jeffrey, CEO, Savills Investment Management, added: “We are delighted that Michelle has joined our team. She is a recognised leader in marketing and communications and has been a prominent spokesperson on ESG. With the acquisition of DRC Capital and our transformational Strategic Investment Alliance with Samsung Life, we are better positioned than ever to scale our growth across both real estate equity and debt strategies. Michelle’s new role will be central to our growth and we are all looking forward to working with her.”
