Vickery Holman have reported their strongest year to date in turnover and pre-tax profits, despite the impact of the pandemic on business operations and the commercial property market. The company also reported growing the headcount to over 80 employees, taking on an additional 12 people in the last 12 months. The firm set up in Plymouth over 30 years ago, expanding to Truro and Exeter and more recently into Bristol.

‘The beginning of April 2020 saw us adapting to lockdown. Our investment over the previous two years in our IT infrastructure and cloud systems meant that we were able to shift to home working quickly and continue servicing our clients. We also decided that we would take this opportunity to ramp up our marketing and PR and be pro-active in terms of setting up webinars and helping clients stay informed. This bolder approach has reaped rewards and seen the whole firm benefit from new work coming in, and some very high profile instructions.’ explained Mark Pellow, Managing Director.

‘Clients are at the heart of our business, an approach supported by our commitment to customer service as well as during the pandemic recertifying for ISO standards in quality assurance and environmental practice.. In addition, we relocated both our Plymouth office and our Bristol office in 2021, showing our belief in the office market.’

The growth in turnover has come from all areas of the business, with strong performances from commercial agency and from general practice surveying due to the active commercial property market.

‘On the back of the upsurge in the property market, our Building Surveying team have been kept busy too and our Property Management portfolio is expanding.’ Added Mr Pellow.
