Vapormatic leases Axminster property to facilitate continued expansion

Vapormatic, the supplier of agricultural and tractor parts, has leased 34,000 sq ft of industrial space in Axminster, Devon.

The company, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of John Deere, has taken the space to facilitate expansion due to growth and increased sales.

Cushman & Wakefield acted on behalf of Vapormatic to agree the deal, whilst LSH acted on behalf the landlord, ACL Properties.

The unit comprises two semi-detached units and was formerly the home of Axminster Carpets.

Vapormatic also has a base at Sowton Industrial Estate in Exeter.

Chris Yates, Partner in Cushman & Wakefield National Logistics & Industrial team, said: “We undertook an extensive search for Vapormatic, which included shortlisting of options along the M5 corridor from Exeter to Avonmouth. The premises at Axminster fitted the bill given its proximity to Vapormatic’s existing South West base, but also in offering flexible storage space, with ability to expand should further capacity be required, all on the same site. We are pleased to have assisted Vapormatic in their expansion drive.”

Byron Hammond at LSH, added: “We were pleased to welcome Vapormatic to the Axminster Carpet site. The site is unusual in offering sizeable warehousing in an area with very little stock available, as well as a landlord who is willing to work with tenants to ensure their needs can be met.”
