The Brewery Quarter, Cheltenham welcomes Indian eatery Mowgli

The Brewery Quarter, Cheltenham has announced the arrival of Mowgli, the nationally renowned home of Indian Street Food. Mowgli will be located next to The Botanist and opposite one of the site’s newest additions The Alchemist, and is set to open its doors this Summer.

This latest addition to the scheme, firmly secures The Brewery Quarter’s position as Gloucestershire’s premier leisure destination. Mowgli joins The Alchemist, Hubbox, Escape Hunt and F45 – all of whom chose The Brewery Quarter as the ideal home for their expansions in the last 12 months.

Nikki Kontarines, Asset Manager of Martin Commercial Properties, Managing Agents of The Brewery Quarter said: “We are delighted to welcome Mowgli to The Brewery Quarter. Following Cineworld’s multimillion pound refurbishment and extension, the recent opening of The Alchemist, Escape Rooms and F45 – and with the award-winning Hubbox also opening its doors this year – we continue to demonstrate that we are the perfect choice for new and expanding brands within the leisure and retail sectors.”

After a meteoric expansion from its first opening in Liverpool just six years ago, this opening will be their lucky number 13. The 2,660 sqft site is situated within The Brewery Quarter scheme next to The Botanist (opened 2018) and opposite The Alchemist (opened 2020) and will house approx. 80 covers with an expected opening this Summer.

Nisha Katona, founder of Mowgli said: “Out of the ashes of a decimated 2020 we hope to raise this sweet fledgling Indian home kitchen in The Brewery Quarter. I have always been a fan of Cheltenham. To be able to take Mowgli there, to create 30 jobs, to find and support a local charity there makes me so proud. We exist to enrich the life in the places we go to – Cheltenham I hope we make you proud.”

Mowgli has become synonymous with quality, authentic, Indian food. A Mowgli dining experience was borne to share dishes full of fresh, bright, intense flavour, it is not a hushed, dining affair, it is vibrant, stimulating and mouth-watering. In 2018 Mowgli was awarded a place in The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list and in 2019, owner Nisha Katona, a former barrister, was awarded an MBE for her services to the Food Industry.

Victoria Broadhead from Bruce Gillingham Pollard, The Brewery Quarter Letting Agent concluded: “Bringing Mowgli to The Brewery Quarter adds another fantastic offer to our already exciting mix, putting us firmly on the map.”
