A range of imaginative and pioneering asset management initiatives in Yorkshire have helped global property consultancy Knight Frank to win a major national award.

Knight Frank’s Property Asset Management team has just won the Property Management Innovator Award at the prestigious 2020 Estates Gazette Awards.

Amy Wood, associate in the team at Knight Frank’s Leeds office, commented: “We are absolutely delighted – and very proud – to have won this highly coveted award. We believe it is a reflection of the different ways in which we try to add value to our property management service for our clients.

“Clients expect more than just rent collection and property inspections from their property managers these days. There is a strong focus on occupier retention, sustainability and place-making and we therefore work with our clients to offer bespoke ideas and innovative forms of property management in order to make assets perform at their best.

“We focus on building an identity for individual properties, considering how buildings can better perform for both their occupiers and our clients to make them stand out as market-leading locations. We achieve this through innovative thinking and actual implementation of ideas,” explained Amy.

Examples of Knight Frank’s work in Yorkshire include:

  • Instructed by Muse Developments to provide consultancy advice in relation to new Grade A office development in the centre of Bradford. This involves the production of a Management Strategy Review to ensure that practical management issues are taken into account at the design stage in order to ensure maximum building efficiency at PC.
  • Implementation of Elogbooks to provide a 24/7 service desk to occupiers in order to ensure that property repair and maintenance issues can be dealt with quickly and efficiently and updates provided to both managing agents and occupiers.

Amy Wood added: “It is also important to mention our highly valued work on the Green Travel Plan at Sterling Capitol’s Capitol Park East in Leeds. This initiative is a package of travel measures tailored to the needs of the individual organisations at Capitol Park, aimed at promoting sustainable travel choices.

“The Travel Plan is not anti-car, but encourages people to consider the range of travel options that are available to them. It places great emphasis on sustainability and the health of everyone who works at Capitol Park.”

Paul Beckett, head of development at Sterling Capitol, added: “This award is richly deserved. We enjoy working with Knight Frank and our tenants on our Green Travel Plan at Capitol Park in Leeds.

“We share the same objectives and our close collaboration ensures these objectives are achieved. We take great pride in our green credentials, which enhance the working lives of our occupiers, as well as demonstrating our long-term commitment to our parks.”
