Chartered surveyor status achieved by graduate at Birmingham office of Colliers International

APC success at Colliers International Birmingham - James Cubitt and Molly Cook

A graduate surveyor in the Birmingham office of Colliers International has gained chartered surveyor status.

Molly Cook, who works in the Corporate Solutions team, has passed the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).

She joined the Birmingham office of Colliers International in September 2018, after graduating from Reading University with the BSc in Real Estate.

James Cubitt, Head of Birmingham Office, said: “The fact that Molly has passed her APC at the first attempt is a reflection of her hard work over the past two years.

“I am certain that the impact of the lockdowns in 2020 has made preparing for the APC more difficult than ever, which makes Molly’s achievement all the more impressive.”

Molly added: “I’m grateful to all those in the Birmingham office of Colliers International who have provided support and guidance during my APC training, especially those in my formal rotation seats of Investment Property Management, National Offices and Valuation and Advisory. The Colliers International Graduate APC Scheme has also been invaluable.

“I’m very pleased to have now passed my APC and to have joined the Corporate Solutions team, and I’m looking forward to continuing to develop my career as a surveyor.”

Molly is one of 18 graduate surveyors at Colliers International who qualified as chartered surveyors following the autumn assessments. Their success follows on from the qualification of 11 chartered surveyors earlier in the year, bringing the total number of Colliers staff achieving chartered status this year to 29.

Their success in spite of 2020 being a challenging year for the industry has been praised by Tony Horrell, Chief Executive Officer of Colliers International for UK and Ireland. He said: “This cohort’s achievement is significant and a testament to their hard work especially because of the unusual circumstances they have had to train and learn through this year.

“We encourage our people to do their best every day, and as part of this we place great importance upon professional standards and providing support for our colleagues on their APC journeys.

“The success of our graduates reflects the way our whole business has embraced this ethos, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow and develop with their teams at Colliers.”
