South Liberty Lane unit to become centre of Bristol’s e-scooter operation

Alder King, acting on behalf of a private landlord, has let a refurbished industrial unit on South Liberty Lane to an electric scooter company which is partnering with VOI Technology on a major electric scooter pilot scheme in Bristol and Bath.

The 4,851 sq ft unit at 193 South Liberty Lane will provide an operational base and workshop facility for the Swedish-based organisation, which aims to drive the electric transformation and digitisation of public transport through a zero emission service to the micro-mobility industry

The electric scooter trial in Bristol and Bath is being managed by the West of England Combined Authority and is part of wider plans to make it easier for people to travel more sustainably around the region without using their car.

The scheme offers both a long-term leasing option for urban commuters and a short-term full or part-hourly option for residents and visitors. Both will allow riders to travel legally on roads.

Emma Smith, associate in Alder King’s industrial and logistics team, said the transaction was completed in double quick time. “From first viewing the unit on 9th October, we pulled out all the stops to complete the letting quickly to meet the company’s timescales and we wish them all the best with this exciting trial which promises to reduce traffic in and around the city centre.”
