Vail Williams appointed to manage prominent Ely commercial property

Property consultancy Vail Williams has been appointed to manage a fully occupied major commercial property on the outskirts of the Cambridgeshire cathedral city of Ely.

The firm has taken over the day-to-day running of prominent Denmark House on the Cambridgeshire Business Park on a three-year contract from landlords Enigma Property (One).

Surveyor Lead Emma Cooper heads the Vail Williams property asset management (PAM) team, including facilities management lead Mark Riley and property management accountant Harry Mackenzie in looking after the landmark building.

The refurbished 41,746 sq ft (3,878 sq m) Denmark House, located on a three-acre (one-hectare) site at the entrance of the business park, is a two-storey building comprising warehouse space and first floor offices.

Vail Williams’ appointment follows the conversion of the Angel Drove building from one to three units, a complex transition overseen by the firm’s Building Consultancy Partner Keith Shaw.

This saw former sole occupant, global metrology specialists Oil & Gas Systems Ltd (OGSL), relocate into a smaller unit in the building after moving some operations to Dubai.

Also in Denmark House are advanced medical imaging business Ubiety Technologies and Cambridgeshire telecommunications and fibre network firm WHP Sitec, which occupies 27,000 sq ft after relocating from Cambridge Research Park.

Vail Williams’ full property management service includes managing tenants, collecting rent, administering the service charge, facilities management – cleaning, fire maintenance, any building works, lifts, toilets – as well as being available for any queries.

Emma Cooper said: “We were thrilled to have been offered this opportunity to partner with Enigma Property (One) and our role is to not only manage Denmark House but also safeguard the building’s long-term value.

“Bringing in a professional management team gives peace of mind and allows the landlord to concentrate on core business in the knowledge that their asset is being well looked after.”

Jonathan Lobo, Director of Enigma Property (One), said: “We are grateful to Vail Williams for taking on this property management role and have been impressed with the firm’s efficiency, transparency and clarity of communication.

“We are very much looking forward to continuing to work with Emma and the team as we move forward with Denmark House’s new life.”
