CBRE Manchester completes new studio at Sandfield House, Wilmslow for Warner Bros.

CBRE’s National Building Consultancy team in Manchester has completed an innovative workspace at Sandfield House on Water Lane in Wilmslow for Playdemic (part of Warner Bros.) one of the world’s leading mobile gaming studios. The Building Consultancy team has delivered a holistic service collaborating alongside CBRE’s Office Agency, Project Management, Cost Consultancy and Engineering Services.

As a result of its continued success, Playdemic had outgrown its previous premises and the Executive Team at Playdemic had outlined an ambitious brief for the new location. In response, CBRE appointed TP Bennett as the conceptual Architects to design the new workspace.

TP Bennett worked in partnership with both staff and management teams to develop the design vision and ADT Workplace were appointed to complete the detailed design and undertake the works.

Gemma Parkinson, Lead Project Manager for CBRE said;

“Playdemic is a people and design focused organisation and challenged us to deliver a studio which was out of the ordinary and indulgent. The new studio has a generous space designed to inspire creative thought and encourage a third way of working for staff who were typically desk based.

“A mezzanine with roof garden uses the exposed pitched roof structure and designated wellbeing rooms, games arcade and multi-purpose spaces promote staff wellbeing. This was a really exciting project that demonstrated our team’s ability to work collaboratively across service lines to deliver a successful outcome for our client.”

Mike Millward, Commercial Manager from ADT, said;

“Playdemic is an innovative and highly creative organisation, so it was vital to deliver a workspace which provided a stimulating and supportive environment for its talented team. Working closely with TP Bennett, we were able to not only deliver the fit out within the fast-tracked timeframes required, but also incorporate a number of novel design features, such as bespoke joinery throughout and a steel mezzanine structure, which will provide an additional floor within the pitched roof of the building.”

Richard Heap, Head of Property for Warner Bros. UK, commented;

“Having worked with CBRE for many years, we were confident that collectively the team would be able to help us optimise the opportunity that expanding and moving to a new building has presented. We have worked hard with the design team to deliver an inspiring workspace which reflects our brand and more importantly supports the team’s ambitious future recruitment and creative plans.”
