RigQuip relocates to upgraded Union Plaza building in Aberdeen

RigQuip is the latest tenant to move into the newly refurbished Union Plaza office building.

The drilling equipment and systems company has signed a five-year lease agreement with owner LGIM Real Assets (Legal & General).

RigQuip has relocated from Dyce to a ground floor office suite measuring 2,336 sq.ft. within Union Plaza.

The company and its staff will benefit from LGIM Real Assets’ recent £1.75m investment in the building and have access to secure on-site underground car parking spaces, bicycle storage, shower facilities, a new business lounge within the reception, flexible meeting rooms and break-out areas and a new coffee lounge.

The extensive refurbishment was delivered in conjunction with Legal & General’s flexible leasing initiative, Capsule, to meet demand for more creative, ultra-modern, ready for occupation multi-purpose working spaces in the city.

Designed to offer professional, self-contained office space with meeting rooms and kitchen facilities, the Capsule suites offer flexible lease terms for tenants and all-inclusive rental agreements which include fast, reliable broadband speeds.

The newly upgraded suites are being marketed by Knight Frank and Savills.

Dan Smith, Director and Head of Aberdeen office at Savills, said: “We are proud to welcome RigQuip to Union Plaza and trust the staff will enjoy the high-quality facilities on offer and the enviable city centre location.

“RigQuip joins a growing number of organisations looking for a fast and easy leasing process, with flexible ‘plug and play’ space with category B fit-outs complete.

“Legal & General’s Capsule initiative allows occupiers to move into high quality suites with minimal delay and without the hassle of having to furnish their new office space, making Union Plaza a highly desirable address and an obvious choice for businesses from a range of sectors.”

Set in the heart of the city centre, Union Plaza gives tenants open plan office facilities with breath-taking views across the city.

Ready for immediate occupation for tenants, Union Plaza currently has a variety of options including Capsule suites from 2,000 sq. ft to larger suites measuring up to 8,500 sq.ft.

The improved spaces in the facility, whose current occupiers include Aberdeen Standard Investment, Deloitte, Burness Paull, MOL and Trapeze, have already attracted significant interest from serviced office occupiers, professional services and oil and gas businesses across the city.
