Schroders completes a raft of new deals at City Tower

Schroders has agreed three new deals to bring TOPdesk, Essential Consulting and Jon Matthews Architects to City Tower in Manchester.

TOPdesk are vacating existing premises in Barclay House to occupy a 3,650 sq ft. suite on the 25th floor of City Tower signing a five-year lease.

Originating in the Netherlands, the Dutch company specialises in complete ITSM software solution. Working with businesses to help their service department excel, TOPdesk offers software products, support and consultancy.

Also confirming their commitment to City Tower is Essential Consulting, taking 1,679 sq ft. on the 26th floor on a new five-year lease.

Essential Consulting is a niche management consultancy, offering interim project resource and high-level consultancy skills to provide business analysis, project and programme management.

Jon Matthews Architects are the third to agree a new deal with City Tower this month. Taking 2,700 sq ft on a new five-year lease, the architect firm will be located on the 22nd floor.

Jon Matthews, founding partner and director of 5plus Architects, set up Jon Matthews Architects as a new venture, with current projects including Trafford Wharf, Access Tower, Brazennose House and Angel Meadow.

Jon Matthews of Jon Matthews Architects said: “As this was our first new venture as a new architect practise – Jon Matthews Architects – we had to be certain we had the right address. The location of City Tower is perfect for us, we’re in the city centre with great access to the main train station and public transport both for staff and clients.

“The positive work Schroders have done in City Tower is immediately noticeable, our office was fully fitted out with the perfect space for what we needed and big enough to support growth as we look to expand our business in the New Year.

“The building management and front of house staff at City Tower is the best I have experienced in any other Manchester office, this combined with the amazing views we now have from the 22nd Floor, were huge deciding factors in confirming our move to City Tower.”

Rob Cosslett, Investment Manager at Schroders, said: “We’re pleased to welcome TOPdesk, Essential Consulting and Jon Matthews Architects to City Tower.

“We have put a real focus on the refurbishment of City Tower office space to meet the ever-changing needs of businesses across sectors by doing so alongside out work on tenant wellbeing initiatives and expanding our retail offering.

“We believe City Tower is a great place for businesses to operate, with the building offering versatile to meet the changing professional needs. The diversity of these three new deals reflects this, and we’re confident all three businesses will thrive in their new space.”
