Bristol property agents phone friends to boost charity funds

Commercial property specialists at Colliers International’s Bristol office have helped boost the company’s nationwide Everyone Gives campaign which has raised £250,000 in just seven days.

The Broad Quay based property experts have backed the social giving campaign which launched in more than 60 countries  and aims to support good causes across the globe.

Head of the Bristol office Tim Davies said the latest fundraising package was simple – and less arduous – than previous fundraising efforts undertaken by the Bristol team.

Last year cycle enthusiasts from the Broad Quay office raised money through a 12-hour sponsored ride around Queen Square and also joined Colliers International’s ambitious charity cycle rally to Paris.

Tim Davies said: “This time around supporters make a direct donation – such as £5 – to a charity that is important to them, tell five friends and ask those friends to each tell five more.  The fundraising efforts will continue until next week but we are hoping it will  become an annual event.

“The beauty of the Everyone Gives campaign is that it enables individuals to use their personal connections to give more to the charities they are most passionate about.”

Everyone Gives   draws on the power of social media to spread the word among the agents’ social networks including Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.  More than 100 charities across Europe have already registered with Everyone Gives including Cancer Research UK, Asthma UK and Scope.

100% of each donation will go directly to the charity selected by the participant.

Those interested can register on the Everyone Gives website or follow the event on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn for updates.
