Evans’ Guiseley investment attracts occupiers

Evans Property Group’s investment into the Springhead Mills regeneration complex in Guiseley, West Yorkshire continues to attract interest as now both redeveloped business units have been snapped up.

The formerly redundant industrial site on Wells Lane in Guiseley is being transformed by Evans to create over 5,000 sq ft of new business space, extensive landscaping works and 54 traditional homes, which are being developed in partnership with Linden Homes. The Springhead Mills homes are proving exceptionally popular with over 40 of the overall 54 now sold.

Evans identified the site as prime for redevelopment having recognised the regeneration benefits a sensitively-designed scheme would deliver for the locality, namely assisting with the local demand for family homes within the popular Leeds commuter-belt.

To facilitate the Springhead Mills development, around 100,000 sq ft of derelict, 1940’s industrial buildings were demolished. However, two business units totalling over 5,000 sq ft were retained and extensively refurbished with a £250K investment programme to provide quality new business/ workshop premises.

Unit M1 has been let to The Plate Company UK Ltd, while unit M2 has been leased to SCC Leeds Ltd, both on 5 year terms. Owen Holder represented Evans in securing the occupiers.

Alan Syers, Portfolio Director at Evans Property Group, said; “Both the commercial and residential elements of Springhead Mills have proven hugely popular and have been embraced as a welcome addition to the ongoing regeneration of the Guiseley area. As one of West Yorkshire’s most popular suburbs, the demand for family homes is high and the new homes will help address that need and the new business units will facilitate business growth within the locality.”
