From Ipsley Court to Hollywood via John Truslove

A touch of Hollywood-style glitz is lighting up a Redditch office complex.

And it is thanks to property agents John Truslove giving the units the red carpet treatment.

Clay & Associates, who provide general tax consultancy, accountancy and business advice, but specialise in the film, entertainment and sports industry, have moved from Studley to Ipsley Court – the second time John Truslove has helped them out.

The firm are leading experts in UK and international taxation implications for production companies, talent, producers and directors, offering bespoke tax planning services to high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs.

They have satellite offices in London and at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.

Dan Clay, owner/director, who runs the business with his father Nigel, senior partner, said: “We had to move – we just couldn’t fit any more people in our previous premises.

“We are very pleased with the new facilities – John Truslove did us proud.”

Launched in 2008, the company now has 25 employees.

Ipsley Court is the site of a once historic 16th Century mansion.

Originally built for Sir John Huband, but much altered in the 18th and 20th centuries – the Manor of Ipsley was held by the Huband family from Norman times. In the early 1980s a new highly quality office building was constructed which became home to The Law Society for many years.

And then it was all change again more recently.

Solihull-based Elegant Homes redeveloped part of the site into apartments, and sold the Grade II Listed element, the oldest part of the original Great House, to a local private investor who turned it into high quality offices, Ipsley Court and Ipsley Barn, nearly 8,000 sq ft in total.

John Truslove secured tenants for all the units ahead of refurbishment work being started, with Clay & Associates among those who have since moved in.

They have taken 3,407 sq ft on a five year lease.

Ian Parker, a John Truslove director, said: “They are breathtaking offices.

“Various original features were retained to include exposed oak beams and original dog-leg staircase with large turned balusters and moulded handrail.

“It is a prestige location amidst gorgeous surroundings. It was ideal for Clay & Associates as head office facilities.”

He added: “As for us, we like to think that every deal we do has star quality – give us an audition and watch us perform.”
